Welcome to the historic and rustic 40-acre Potter’s Farm Retreat Center nestled among the tall pines and high meadow above Chequamegon Bay in the north woods of Wisconsin.

Here the meadow offers you peace.

The land is your teacher.

The Labyrinth is your guide.

And you feel at home!

Farmhouse

Our early 20th century farmhouse retains much of its original charm. You will feel comfortable and “at home.”

Cabin

The cabin is adjacent to the main house and is often used together with the Farmhouse for additional lodging space.

Camping

Areas on the land are available for dispersed camping. Often larger groups offer a camping option to their attendees. Campers typically use the Icehouse facilities during their stay.

Barn

This early 20th century craftsman stone barn is a classic post and beam structure, suitable for gatherings up to 75.  Renovations were done in 2016. Ample lighting and a stage provide great space for performances, presenters and teachers. The Barn is suitable for yoga, massage, and other gatherings when the weather is warm. A wood stove and portable gas heaters help take the chill off in the fall and spring.

Also stored here for your convenience:

  • Two extra refrigerators - great for storing food for larger groups.

  • Banquet tables/chairs

  • Outdoor chairs for gatherings around the fire

Land

Fire
The fire ring near the farmhouse is suitable for casual gatherings, eating s’mores, singing songs, and telling stories under the stars! Firewood is provided.

Labyrinth/Meadow
On the meadow is a 45-foot turf Chartres-style labyrinth. The meadow offers a sweet place for cloud gazing or watching metaphor showers! Here it feels like you can touch the night sky.

Walking Paths
A half-mile path encircles the entire property where you will find quiet places for contemplation.

Reflection Pond
The pond, located to the west of the Medicine Wheel, is an excellent place for silent reflection and connecting deeply with all the natural elements.

Medicine Wheel

Nestled in the northwest area of the property is a Delicate Lodge Medicine Wheel. Colorful flags mark the cardinal and non-cardinal directions and “gates.” This sacred wheel and fire pit are used for ceremonies. Individuals may enter for quiet contemplation. Use of the Medicine Wheel for your group gathering must be approved in advance with the Event Coordinator. Please no fires here unless prior permission has been granted. 

The willow dome structures around the wheel are Rainbow Lodges. They are used during specific ceremonies by trained guides. Please leave these spaces untouched unless you are a part of those ceremonies.

Dance Wheel
Laying in the southwest area of the property is a Delicate Lodge Prayer Dance Wheel. It is a dedicated high ceremony space, awakened each year around the Summer Solstice. If you enter this space, do so in reverence.

Other

Projector/Movie Screen
Offer a movie night for friends or a presentation for your meeting on our large portable screen with a projector. Suitable for use indoors or out. Advance notice for use of this equipment is required along with a refundable deposit.

WiFi
Wi-fi is available throughout the property and buildings.

Apple TV Box/Smart TV
While we’re not hooked up to the outside world with antenna television, you can login with your Apple ID (if you have one) or use your personal streaming service accounts with the Smart TV.
